I am Vickie Gibson a Radiopharmacy Consultant and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London and the University of Sussex. I graduated with a degree in Chemistry followed by an MSc in Radiopharmaceutics and PET Radiopchemistry. In my early career I worked in Medical Physics in Portsmouth before moving on to working in Radiopharmacy as Production lead followed by QA Manager at BartsHealth then as Head of Radiopharmacy at Guy's Hospital.
I have more than 20 years' experience working in Radiopharmacy and was part of the UK Radiopharmacy Group committee. As a practicing Radiopharmaceutical Scientist I have witnessed many changes in Radiopharmacy over recent years with increased interest in therapeutics and novel tracers including ATIMPS and the introduction of PET manufacturing into traditional Radiopharmacies. Moreover I have seen the workforce shortage we are experiencing which is a massive challenge when trying to increase staffing to meet demand and grow capacity. With no specific training path for junior staff we are recruiting from varied backgrounds and I think there is a real need to provide support to develop staff to allow progression and provide a sustainable workforce for years to come.
In setting up Radiopharmacy Training & Consultancy, my aim is to provide high quality training and support to Radiopharmacies and their staff. Since the pandemic we have seen more and more online courses coming through which are great for accessibility and flexibility but they are not always the best fit for some learners.
I am extremely fortunate to have a number of friends and colleagues supporting this venture who are all keen to help develop and deliver future courses. Please feel free to contact me if you have any recommendations for future courses you would like to see and keep an eye out for future developments.

We will be hosting a series of short courses both in person and online aimed at all levels of Radiopharmacy staff and ancillary staff

We can tailor bespoke training programs to be delivered on site where a particular need has been identified or where there are a larger number of staff requiring training.

Our consultancy services include short term support to units and businesses for projects and remediation and ongoing support where required.
